
Serial terminals have a soft spot in every network administrator’s over 30 year old heart.

Anyone who’s used these things for out of band router management will tell you they can get you to the console faster than any other device.

Hard to turn your back on it when the hardware and software (however minimal) are almost impossible to duplicate economically with today’s technology.
UPDATE: Apparently the Compaq EVO T20 will work as a terminal emulator without needing a host!! Please help Paddy get one to try for himself.
